The board does not respond to public comments. You’ll comments will go on public record. The meeting is recorded and posted on the D181 website.

It signals that people are paying attention. Board members notice when a topic keeps coming up, especially when speakers are different people with different perspectives.
It sets the agenda over time. Boards and superintendents decide what gets studied, revisited, or put on a future agenda partly by what they hear repeatedly. Comments are often the first step in getting an item formally on the table.
It recruits people. Other parents in the room or watching online often hear a comment and realize they're not alone.
